 language and close-textual analysis 

1)

narrative: the narrative for the episode was based of the girl April and her strange powers which she seems to not be able to control.

camerawork:we see lots of close up shots onto April when her eyes glow red,also transition from shadow kin world to Aprils world and shows the connection between them.

Editing: CGI used in shadow kin world and glowing blue heart anchor in scene 1. also in scene 3 we see Aprils eyes glow red again with conflict between dad 

sound:in the last scene we see non diegetic music used to create  suspense and tension also dialouge repeated by corakinus shows relationship between April and corakinus.

mise-en-scene:in the second scene we see mise-en-scene with the american high school and lockers.

Narrative features also communicate meaning with mise-en-scene and props with April's knives which communicate to the audience that something dangerous is going to happen or a fight is going to happen. 4)
