  Denotation-we can see a boy who is unhappy and wearing torn clothes. Connotation-this picture from water aid advert suggest that they are trying to make people feel sympathy for the boy because he has a innocent face an has torn clothes.Also the text is trying to go into depth to create a meaning of them saying that donating could save their lives and by donating they wouldn't have to dig graves and they could dig toilets instead. Analysis-The effect this gives on the target audience is that the producers want their audience to feel sympathy for the boy as he looks innocent and harmless also the concrete tells people that this boy is set in a place that is not good for a child to stay again allowing the audience to have pitty for him Denotation-In the picture we can see a supernatural creature which seems to be half spider half snake and we can also see the 'v' in the middle signifying the name of the character.
