Magzines feedback and learner response

WWW: You’ve answered the three assessment questions and your responses for Q1 and Q2 are very good. You’ve clearly picked up key terminology for magazines and also knowledge of the Tatler and Reveal CSPs. Keep up the good work!

EBI: Make sure you don’t confuse key terminology – revise denotation and connotation as you confuse them in Q2!

This is also a very good lesson for future assessments – you need to write more for higher-mark questions. Here, Q3 is worth 12 marks but you write less than half of what you wrote for Q2 which was only 6 marks. This is an important exam skill that we will continue to develop throughout the course but always look at the number of marks! For a 12 mark question you ideally want to write three well-developed paragraphs. Also for Q3, use the word stereotypes in a representation answer and how stereotypes are being reinforced or challenged in the media product.

LR: Create a new blogpost called ‘Magazines feedback and learner response’. Copy and paste this feedback into the blogpost and write THREE things you will revise or practice for the Magazines topic before your next exam or assessment.

1)one thing i will do to improve is practise more 12 marker question so that i become used to it so that i know how to write a twelve marker question very well and in detail.

2) ill also make sure that i revise media terminology so that i can always use it to refer back to what the question is asking me specifically denotation and connotation and the other glow terminology

3)I will also practise developed paragraphs to get the best mark i can get on questions such as 6 mark questions.
