Reveal CSP

 1) we see that there is a multiple images of celebrities, we also see that there is a bar code at the bottom of the magazine, we see the title of the magazine Reveal, we also see the cover lines in this magazine.

2) in the magazine we can see that the type of font they have chosen to use is a sans serif font. This connotes that the people who designed the cover were going for a modern style of font something that is approachable to their audience.

3)The cover lines appeal to the Reveal audience by telling them the lives of celebrities and how they go on about their day to day life which interest them because people are now more interested in celebrities day to day life.

4)The connotations of the colour scheme they have chosen is a bright and vibrant look to the cover and the colour scheme isn't just one set colour it is a mix of colour which i believe the did to catch the eye of their audience

5)Images are used to create interest by putting the main celebrities that they are focusing on as the central image and putting the other celebrities around the magazine.

6)We see a huge difference in typography from reveal and tatler because reveal uses sans serif font and tatler uses serif font to look more posh than modern.

Representations

1)We see celebrities like Cheryl being represented as posh as we can see i the cover lines also celebrities like Katie and Pete being represented negatively and having a bold font saying 'secret meetings with Pete'.

2)Women are represented in the Reveal magazine as people who are interested in a lot of different thing s such as fitness, Relationships, pregnancy etc.

3)reveal represents social class as something that only celebrities can gain and that it is very hard to get to a higher social class.

4)The preferred reading of the Reveal magazine is that they want you to believe that celebrities live a stress free life whereas someone may say that the oppositional reading to this is that their are actually a lot of problems with celebrities and they are being represented wrongly.

social and cultural context

1)The aspects of British life we see is the gossip and the busyness of celebrities and their lives. Compared to Tatler we see the posh and fashion lifestyle of British people.

2)the cover lines suggest that women are insecure about how their skin looks it also suggest that they are insecure about their diets and weight.

3)Issues that constantly come up are womens diet and weight they commonly talk about celebrities and relationships.

Magazines blog assessment

 1)A magazine convention is what we commonly see on a magazine. For example we see a key convention in the Tatler magazine which is cover lines on the bottom of the central image in bold which is their for us to get an idea of the magazine. 2)The front cover of the Tatler magazine uses media language to appeal to their target audience because they denotate that they are talking about high end things for example when they say 'she looks good in pearls' showing the literal meaning that they cater to people who are more wealthy. they also use use a colour scheme which is constant throughout the whole magazine and is a simple colour scheme of gold and pink and also have a serif fonts on their letters.it also gives identification and it looks appealing as well. Doctor who:language and representation

social and historical context 1)An unearthly child reflects the social and historical contexts of the 1960's by the typical way of how men where shown to have more power and status over women and we see this with when the doctor completely ignores what Barbra wright says to him. 2)Audiences might react in a way where they may be scared at least for a lower class background or a audience may be confused and may not understand what science fiction is. Language and close-textual analysis 1)The Tardis scene where the doctor and the teachers are trapped are trying to find a way out but the doctor still seems to be a cunning and evil villain. In this scene we see lots of narrative in this scene wit the use of the Todorov-equilibrium theory the mystery of where Susan lived.Also the disequilibrium is now provided with the teachers being trapped.
