Reception theory
1.the preferred reading of a media text is what the producers of that piece of media want you to go away with and what the audience wants to see.
2.The oppositional reading is when the audience take the negative from that piece of media and when people disagree with what is being represented to people.
3.Young people are shown in the trailer that teenagers are violent and are criminals and they are shown to be a nuisance.even though young people shouldn't be represented this way.
4.An audience may construct an oppositional reading because not all people may see young people as violent and aggressive people and that young people are actually kind and hard working people who care about getting an education.

From the stuart hall reception theory-The preferred reading for this McDonald's poster is that McDonald's wants us to think that the big mac is a appetizing and enticing meal and that they want the audience to come and buy the big mac.We know that this is true because in the anchorage text it says ''it is as good as it is big.'' and this shows us the audience that McDonald's are trying to tell us that the big mac is like a meal and is as good as it looks.Another preferred reading of the McDonald's poster of the big mac is that the big mac is freshly made and is healthy we know this from this from the anchorage text saying ''some fresh crisp lettuce and crunchy dill pickle.''We can connote that this is trying to the McDonald's advertisement poster of the big mac is trying to show us that the big mac is actually quite healthy because it sounds healthy by them saying 'fresh'.
The oppositional reading for the McDonald's poster is that many people would say that in reality the big mac looks nothing like want they are showing to their audience and that it is much smaller that what the advertisement is showing. Some may say that the burger is actually really unhealthy and that even though it looks like that they will actually want to go and try the burger out. However vegetarians may not even try the burger because in the anchorage text it says ''two lean patties of 100% beef .''This would give a oppositional reading to the vegetarian because they can't actually eat it because it has beef.Another oppositional reading of the McDonald's poster is that overweight people may find it offensive because in the the anchorage text it says 'bring us your bigger that average appetite 'and we can connote that these people wouldn't want to eat it because it might backlash on McDonald's because they are trying to body shame and be rude to these type of people.
In conclusion i think that the negotiated reading is that someone may know that it doesn't actually look like that in real life but would still like to go and try it
My own advertisment:
From the stuart hall reception theory the preferred reading of this KFC poster is that KFC want to make the double zinger burger look like a nice and big burger that will fill you up in seconds. The producers of the the poster want consumers to buy their product. We know this is true because we can reference it to the poster where it say's 'it's not big its epic.'This shows our audience that the producers are trying to entice people into buying the burger that they are trying to sell their product to people who may be easily influenced.Another preferred reading of the KFC double zinger burger is that it is cheap and that anyone can buy it.We know this because in the low to corner it shows the prices and that they are being sold for and hat they are giving combos of it which are £11.90 and £8.50 this is being used because it makes our audience aware that the price of the burger isn't that expensive and is quite cheap.
The oppositional reading for the KFC poster is that some would say that that burger doesn't actually look like that and that they are only using that as a cover up to trick you into buying their product.
